We've been living in a house of hair.
Dog hair.
Cat hair.
I've been expecting to see five bald animals walking around, but it never happens. Loosing hair at this extent should make them "baldheaewded' - as they say it here in Arkansas. Not yet!
There is plenty of dog hair and cat hair everywhere in this place.
It bothers me. Bugs me awful!
I vacuum the whole house. Carpet, walls, curtains, couches and even the sides of our bed. The exercise is tough so I am in pain for about three days. Back pain, butt pain, leg pain, neck pain and so on. And the hair comes back in a matter of hours.
I brush the pets. And make balls the size of my head, of plain pure hair.
The picture above is of the "harvest" of a single brushing session, from one dog only. I put the ball inside that basket and hung it at the clothes line post. For the birds - if they have a use for it. I've been doing it for about two years already.
I'd like to think that the birds around our property have nicely lined nests, fluffy and smooth. If they don't mind having pet hair in their houses.
That little guy, which I think is a "young'n", seems to be remembering the nest he just left.

Something is bothering me to no end. I don't know about you, but I am sad and concerned about our friend Tracey, from Tracey's Crafty~Scraps.
Her blog went "kapluee". She disappeared from Facebook. Her daughter's blog went "kaputz".
This is not right.
I miss her. A whole lot!
I care for her. I worry about her.
What if she needs help? And we cannot even CUSS at whoever is messing with her?
I have my own idea of what may have happened, but these thoughts are only conjectures.
Does anyone actually KNOW anything about her? If she is OK - which is what matters most.
And if you know something, would you please let me know?
And if you have contact with her, if you live close or have a way to talk to her, would you please let her know that she is missed and loved? Please!?
There is a star missing on my sky...

oh, i'm sorry your friend has disappeared. i hate that when that happens without a whisper, a warning, a word... it always makes me think that something terrible has happened... i hope she's okay, and maybe just needs an escape from cyberworld...
good lord, that's a load of hair! our house is always hairy too, but not quite that bad! :)
That's a whole lotta hair! Like you, I always put the animal hair out for the birdies - they love it! Sometimes the crows can't wait for it and start pecking at Cliffy, our bunny, trying to pull her fur out :o(
Sorry to hear that Tracey's 'disappeared'. I do hope she is ok, but I'm afraid I don't have any information to help you.
xx
so kind to give the birds the hair. I see them take hair from here too.
I am SO worried about Tracey, have tried emailing & talked to other worried bloggers. I do have her address & will write. Something has happened .
I have the same fur problem and have half the animals that you do! I guess it's time for some heavy brushing and vacuuming again, I have fur wads rolling around like tumbleweeds - all over the house! Wish I would get feeling better so I could give those critters a bath!
Missing Tracey too. Everything has been shut down and deleted, maybe even her email too, I don't know.
I've had the same problems with black lab hair. It is in little blowing balls all over the house!
I hate it when someone just disappears. I did it once and it was because I was trying to stay out of the way of a hacker. Hope your blogging friend is okay.
It's scary when a blogger friend disappears without a word. You always think the worst. We will all keep good thoughts that she is OK.
xo Catherine
P.S. Banjo has been leaving lots of hair around too!
what a sweet post, in a very sad sort of way. there are soooo many people here that i feel so connected to, the same way you feel about tracey. i do hope you hear something.
in may i was in the hospital, with no internet. my husband posted on my facebook but never posted on my blog.
no pets here....no pet hair, what a kind gesture to share it with your birds!!!
i hope Tracey is okay!
and I hear ya on the fur - we have it in flying chunks here too! but im going to steal your idea and make a furball hanging basket now too!
Gone - everywhere - facebook too -
Have written
Hope they are ok - I know they have been so worried
Thinking of them
That is such a sweet idea that you do for the birds....
Have a blessed Sunday!
We do get attached to our blog buddies and not knowing is not good. I don't know her so can't help. Hope someone can.
I am so grateful for summer for the fur seems to be slowing down here. Good idea about the fur for birds. My luck, mice would steal it for their own nests.
it's so funny that you place it on a hanging basket. i just toss ours in the woods. but you've made me wonder if it could be used like spanish moss for plants.
i hope your friend reappears safe and sound, or at least gets word out as to why she's dropping out.
I too tire of Ella's endless hair, but I can't complain too much, because my hair is right along with it. I'm pretty rue I will go bald as it runs in the family (ladies too).
Bummer about your friend. Especially if the reason given by Kim is true. Goes back to your ugly post.
Tracey is ok but yes her husband made her delete all her profiles etc... she needs some space to sort it all and is better left alone for a little while until it settles.
She knows we all miss her and I am sure she will return when she can.
Miriam I am amazed at the amount of fur our four legs can generate! But what good use you have put it too. Sorry about your blog friend. I had that happpen too last month and I still don't know what happen.
Miriam please email me at

I swear I sweep up two or three extra animals every day. Thoughtful of you to share with the birdies! :)
Yup, my cat sheds all the time. I just vacuumed up a ton of hair in the living room.
I LOVE YOU!
