Just remembering

No, this picture is not new. It was taken last year. I am just trying to bring that feeling back, when it was so lovely outside. But, again, I am not complaining, just remembering.

So, it is time to go back to the stores and exchange those unwanted, ugly, non-fitting or fattening presents, right? Hehehehe...

Years ago, I worked for the famous WalMart, as an Overnight Stocker. I was one of those weird-looking-limping-and-mumbling-around-the-place-blurry-eyed people that many of you have already seen working at the stores, if you ever went shopping past 10pm.

Our store, though, after a while, decided to shut by midnight and open again only at seven in the morning. That was fantastic! We had the whole place for ourselves.

You see, customers are, in general, OK people. But some are just like my cats, when I am preparing their dinners.

They stay under foot.
They do not move.
They see you, they know you are there, but they do not move.
They "put an eyeball" on you and, no matter what you are carrying, or how heavy it may be, they do not acknowledge your presence.
Except, I mean EXCEPT, if they want something that is not there yet! Then, they "meow". Loud and annoying!

Well, my cats are loved by me, no matter what. The customers were NOT so much.

We worked like mules! I am not going to say much about that because I do not want problems with the place. But they are not very famous for fair treatment or consideration to their "mules".

And, coming the day after Christmas, it was quite interesting when the doors opened, at seven o'clock in the morning. A crowd would come in, and go straight to the Service Station (or whatever that was called), in order to exchange their presents. And, if you'd think that the exchanging and returning of merchandise was a thing of a few days or weeks, you are wrong! It lasted for a long time.

The store that I worked had this policy of accepting anything, any time, in whatever condition it was. It amazed me. I cannot tell you how many times I saw returned merchandise that one had to be completely cold  DEAD not to realize that it had been used/worn A LOT.

I saw boots that had chicken shit on its soles. I give you my word!!

I saw tons of clothes that had the crinkles in the shape of the bodies that worn them - for, at least a bunch of hours. Some had perspiration marks under the armpits. All of these items returned to the store for, either, money back, or exchange!

Oh, the glory of working at Walmart...

LOL!

I have had family and friends that work or have worked there and yes, the unfair treatment of their "mules" is a well known fact. Perhaps why I hate the place so much.

FUNNY!! You're right about the mules... I've had family work there as well... and mules they were! WalMart is my least favorite place to be... I'd rather pay a little extra... and not deal with the WalMart crowd. I'll bet you're glad to be out :)
