Thoughts

As hubby enjoys a nap (since he got up at five in the morning), I am taking advantage of the quiet moment to sit and stink  - ops, I mean sit and think. For some reason, it seems my life has entered a pattern of similar days with nothing new happening. We all get that, I know. And no news most of the times is better than too many news, right?

I am alive. Hubby is alive. The critters are alive and keeping us busy. That has to be good. And it is. I am not complaining. I am just thinking "what is there to write about, when today is the same as yesterday, which was the same as the day before?"

As I sit and think, a few questions pop into my mind.
Are we really facing the end of the world?
Is it ever going to rain again?
Are we, perhaps, going to have a winter as rough as this summer has been?
Can a person really die of drinking too much water? I don't mean drowning, I do mean really-drinking-water.

Huh... And more: why do large cities, very large cities that produce nothing but mouths to eat get rain, while the fields where food is grown are scorching in the sun? And why do tornadoes most often hit these same areas in the country and don't go mess up the hairs of those city people instead? What a collection of thrilling thoughts... No, the sun did not cook my three marbles yet. Being this dumb is my normal condition.

Yesterday hubby found a snake inside the screened in patio that we just finished building under the bedroom deck. And I discovered two new things: first, the so called screened in patio is not so well screened in after all. Second, that a snake can also die of dehydration. Yes, it was deader than dead. Rigor mortis set in and all. Stiff dry, the poor bastard. For good measure, after we took it out of there with a shovel, I gave it a good conk on the head with the shovel. One can never be too safe. Yuk!

Talking about conk, I've got a kink. Yes, and maybe this is one of the reasons why I've been such a bad blogger. It has been almost two years now, since I started developing this kink on my lower back. I've been to the doctor a bunch of times, have gone through a long menu of exams and tests. Nothing different was found but a "kink" on my spine that causes tremendous pain and an almost constant burning sensation on my left leg. Sitting is absolutely the worse position for me. Oh, I am only trying to justify why I have been such a lazy blogger : lack of what to tell and a nasty back that keeps me on pain pills every day. I am NOT going to talk about that anymore, I promise!

Hey! I just thought of something else. Are we, bloggers, really a bunch of solitary old and young broads and dudes that do not have a life to live? On my last post, where I mention a dear lady that disappeared, Nancy Claes, from A Rural Journal commented that my friend must have left because she "found a life", or something to this effect. She made me laugh so good. I had already thought of that. Somehow, I think she is right. At the end of the road, we are a bunch of loners that stretch our eyes all over the world, looking for new friends. If not, why do we get all happy when people leave comments for us to read?

Again, I am not complaining, I am just agreeing with Nancy and, at the same time, enjoying this reality. Ah, and I do confess I am a loner.

What else? Let me think a bit more. Oh, yes! Have you guys tasted the "Delight Iced Coffee - Mocha" flavour? I even talked about it on my Facebook page, so excited I am about it. Dang, the thing is good!! We enjoy a big glass of it every afternoon, hubby and I. It is full of flavour, not too sweet and freaking good!

When something is this good I always have the same idea: how neat it would be to fill the bathtub with it, all the way to the top. Dive in with a straw and just lay there, sucking on it until it is gone!!

Oh, well...

I can't stand very long and you can't sit - we are a pair!

A good snake! (dead)

I am a loner now, I wasn't before. Yes, I sit here and swear at my hot spot and write what comes to mind - usually.

Yes the "same old" does get tiring, I agree, but perhaps better than the other choice...

Yes, I have heard you can die from drinking too much water, if that helps your inquiring mind.

Have a nice evening!

YES, I have tried the iced coffee, mocha, in fact there is some in my fridge right now. It is so yummy!!!! You couldn't be boring if you tried, I'm pretty sure you can think of something to say! You make me laugh girl, I love you! Yes I am a loner and I love blogging because I've made friends like you!

I know I keep saying this, but I'm glad you are back. I didn't comment on your last post because I was upset that something may have happened to you when you left for a bit. You never know she could have had her computer break down and then when it got up and running forgot where the hell her password was. Stuff like that happens to me all of the time. Bummer it is so hot there. It was hot here for but has finally cooled some. I'm a farmer's daughter and stopped trying to control the weather at an early age. If dad couldn't with all of his worrying I sure wasn't going to do much. I hope it cools off, as long as that doesn't mean the next snake you find is alive. Good to have you back.

I had to laugh at this post! First of all the blogging stories - I can so relate! Need to move around more, need to find a life, but do miss my blogging friends when gone too long. And my new favorite drink - yep - Iced Coffee - mocha flavor.

Great minds think alike!

What a delightful post! I have had many of those thoughts myself, but I have never tasted the coffee. I bet it's too sweet for me with my stupid diabetes....I will check it out though.
