I've Been Busy
Hugo, leave my books alone!
See this beautiful pile? It is mine, all mine. The Library had a sale and I was able to buy all these babies for only 22 dollars! Twenty two, believe that? All these books!!
These things are addictive, I tell you. And would you like to know who's at fault? My aunt Ruth! She was the one that first called my attention for the pleasure of reading.
As a young girl, I spent some time at her house. She already had her two little boys, and had her hands full with the addition of a brat girl to care for.
So, one day, I catch her laying on her bed reading a book - during one of her rare moments of peace and quiet, because we were supposed to be napping.
- There you are! I say to her.
And she turns and looks at me.
- There you are! Always reading, reading, reading!!!
She did not kick my ass as she should have.
Books are treasurse to us, my aunt and I. We share our experiences, our lists of authors (the good and the bad), and all this from very far away, because she lives in the country where I came from. I wish she lived close to us.
Yes, life has been busy over here. Still trying to clean the crap out of that piece of forest. We are both so out of shape that only a few hours of work a day will leave us whinning for a long time.
"Getting old is the shits" as my grandpa used to say.

i have SO missed your honest dose of life! :)
love that you and your aunt still share that reading love across the miles...
Your grandpa is so right!!!! I love reading too. My son got me a Kindle and it's AWESOME! I read more than I have in a long time. Well, I used to until I got Tiah. Anyway, love your post girlfriend! You make me laugh as usual. I agree with Tex, we have both missed you!
I love reading, I can get lost in a book and the time just flies!
Nice to see you!
